Synergy Teams Up With Right To Play And Olympic Stars For Inaugural Gymnastics Festival in Harlem

Right To Play Gymnastics Festival; Harlem, NY

New York, NY (September 15, 2013) Synergy partnered with the non-profit  Right to Play to help create and produce the inaugural Right to Play Gymnastics Festival at the Harlem Armory in New York City. The PR event served as a fundraiser and celebration to launch the non-profit organization’s new partnership with USA Gymnastics.

Kids of all ages tested their gymnastics skills and learned fundamentals through the USA Gymnastics Fitness Zone.  On hand to encourage the kids and support the cause were Right To Play's newest Athlete Ambassadors, 2012 Olympic all-around gold medalist Gabrielle Douglas, 2008 Olympic horizontal bar silver medalist Jonathan Horton, and 2008 Olympic team silver medalist Alicia Sacramone. The event focused on teaching attendees about the power and benefits of sport and play. The children were also treated to exhibition performances by a handful of the country's top athletes.

“The event was a tremendous success in raising money for Right To Play.  Everyone from the attending children, our Board of Directors, the executive team at USA Gymnastics to Gabby Douglas and our Athlete Ambassadors were impressed with the look, feel and execution of the event,” commented Carin Zaleski, Events & Special Initiatives at Right to Play. Right to Play’s mission is to use sport and play to educate and empower children and youth to overcome the effects of poverty, conflict, and disease in disadvantaged communities.
