MET-Rx launched its new partnership with former Ohio State defensive end Joey Bosa by hosting a pre-NFL Draft event near iconic Wrigley Field. Bosa is the new face of the MET-Rx brand.
MWW Public Relations engaged Synergy to develop and execute the event, which featured as its centerpiece a MET-Rx branded school bus. The bus, which included images from Bosa’s football career, also extended the new MET-Rx “Unleash the Monster” advertising campaign and broadcast commercial.
Conducted just prior to a Chicago Cubs’ game, the activation included a Q&A with Bosa hosted by Lance Zierlein of NFL Media, media interviews, fan engagement and photo opportunities and MET-Rx product sampling at the event and around the stadium.
“I’ve known about the brand growing up, with my dad owning a gym…I’m proud to be a part of their future,” Bosa said in an interview with ESPN.com.
Later that evening, Bosa was selected by the San Diego Chargers as the 3rd pick in the 2016 NFL Draft.
